TED-Style Talks
Public health achieves its greatest impact when it blends the science of what we measure with the art of what people experience.
This talk highlights how lived experience—the firsthand perspectives of individuals affected by public health issues—can enhance investigations, improve interventions, and promote equitable outcomes.
Drawing from my team's work, I will share how partnerships with clinical and advocacy organizations brought lived experience into study design, data interpretation, and the development of actionable recommendations. These collaborations provided valuable insights, added depth to the data, and amplified the impact of our findings. Commentaries from clinical and lived experience perspectives further validated our approach and underscored the importance of integrating these voices into public health efforts.
This presentation will show how empowering lived experience strengthens timely evidence-based decision-making and enhances the potential for systemic change—creating solutions that truly resonate with those most affected.
