Natural toxins are poisonous substances produced by living organisms such as plants, animals, bacteria, and fungi and can be found in both food and water sources. If an individual is exposed to a natural toxin, both short-term and long-term adverse health effects may occur. Exposure may lead to death depending on the exposure route (inhalation, ingestion, injection, or skin).
